What may my child download to their assigned iPad?
Students will not be permitted to download any content, to include music, videos, or games, to their iPad. Students may be directed by their teacher to download a document from a teacher-approved web resource or from the eBackpack web locker.
May my child bring their own iPad or other mobile device from home to use at school instead of the school-purchased device?
No. We maintain a secure network that is shared only with approved equipment and devices. Students will also be using PRE-approved and loaded Apps that will not be available on their personal devices.
Can my child bring their own earbuds and stylus?
Yes. We will not be providing students with either earbuds or a stylus. If you choose to purchase these, please be sure to verify that the earbuds are compatible with the iPad and that the stylus is truly the soft-tipped tool designed for touch-screen devices.
Will my child be carrying the iPad between classes?
Yes, students will be using the iPads in most of their classes daily. The P.E. may ask the students to leave the iPads in their lockers prior to coming to class but may also need to have it on request for P.E.
Will my child be turning in work completed on the iPad?
Yes. The FHAS District has purchased a license for a web based student work locker, eBackpack. Students will be turning in some work through a WebDAV service to their eBackpack account that is secure and unique to each student.
What are my financial obligations with the iPad this semester?
There is a $30.00 annual Tech Use Fee. You may pay by cash or checks (made payable to FHASD).
May I review a student iPad or speak with someone at the school if I have more questions?
Absolutely! What Apps will my child be accessing at school?
The Apps that students will use will be different depending on the grade level and subject area in which the devices are being used. Please check with your child's teacher concerning specific Apps.
