We are dedicated to creating an educational environment in which every child at Myer School is given the opportunity to receive quality education. We care about our country by caring deeply about its children. We believe that neither race, sex, ethnic heritage, geography, or social or economic status may be used to deny a child the opportunity to acquire a solid foundation in reading, writing, mathematics, in critical thinking, and in values of friendship, responsibility, compassion, honesty, and self-esteem.
We believe in providing a balanced curriculum for our students at Myer Elementary School. To this end, we provide opportunities for students to participate in curriculum beyond the Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. It is our philosophy that students can show abilities and strengths in a variety of areas. All students at Myer School have classes covering;
- The three subjects above comprise English Language Arts, "ELA"
- Social Studies
- Physical Education
- Computers (ungraded)
- Library (ungraded)
In addition to these studies, students attend recess twice daily. Students need to develop teamwork and the sense of fair play that will provide them with skills they will use throughout their lives. Recess gives students the opportunity to practice good sportsmanship while also providing needed ‘brain breaks’ which prepares them for continued learning within their school day.
