We've finished all of our administrative tasks and have begun our first learning module. We're studying basic engineering concepts. By the end of this module your student will have (as part of a team):
    learned basic mechanical engineering concepts
    • designed a bridge
    • completed basic blueprints of a bridge
    • built a bridge from wood
    • stress tested their bridge
    • designed and presented a digital information brief on their project

UPDATE: The students have completed the first 'half' of their bridges. The second 'half' usually goes much faster. Some of the students are using some 3D connectors that I printed up in the lab to see if they can use them to create a bridge that meets the same specs.

Please check out the photo gallery of what your child is accomplishing. Have them explain what they were doing when the picture was taken-you'll be pleasantly surprised.

As always, thanks for your support. Should you ever have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me at griffork@fhasd.org.
