The Student Council serves as the governing body for all students enrolled at Colonel Smith Middle School. Students act as a voice for the student body in communication with faculty and staff and are composed of students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Student Council is to represent and address the needs and interests of the student body. It strives to facilitate communication and interaction between CSMS students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community, and shall sponsor various educational and social activities, which will further this purpose.

Get Involved!

There are many different ways you can get involved in Student Council here at CSMS.

If you are interested in becoming a Committee Member or volunteering at events, enroll in the www.googleclassroom using code: e1pdvr. Information will be posted. Or, feel free to contact Mrs. Ortiz, who is the club's advisor.

Committee members are expected to attend regular committee meetings and support the club activities. 

We are usually in the most need for volunteers at the following events: sporting events, dances, concession stand, Festivals, Family Night, and Athletic Meets. 

If you are interested in sitting in on Student Council meetings and/or seeing what your program representatives are up to feel free to attend at your leisure. Check out our calendar page for more specific dates and times. If you don’t want to physically attend, you can always see exactly what is discussed and how your reps are voting stay informed by logging in to our Student Council page in Google Classroom.
